LIKAMED was established in 1978 by Rudolf Lipp as a distributor for RAMY couches. After the first successes with this line of products, in 1984 the company started developing and manufacturing its own range of couches in a highly specialised production facility. The brand LIKAMED was born. Due to its success, two years later the production was moved to an even larger, optimised manufacturing location. Production modernisation efforts have been constantly driven forward and best performances were continuously achieved. In 1991 the LIKAMED GmbH relocated to the current premises at Eppingen-Mühlbach. Innovative couch concepts were then developed, such as the NOVO series, which was the first dialysis couch with the much sought-after TÜV-GS safety seal. The ISO certification in compliance with DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN 46001 took place as early as 1999. In the same year, company expansion in the form of LIKAMED Service GmbH & Co. KG. was carried out. New milestones were set in 2003 with the foundation of the LIKAMED Powder Coating GmbH & Co. KG and the entrance of Sebastian Lipp into the company management. In 2010 Likamed launches a completly new generation of dialysis chairs and surprises the experts worldwide with the new innovative "Intervertebral Disc Bed".
